We will focus on creating realistic performance for stage and screen in a fun and supportive environment. This will add a terrific technique to your skillset or kickstart your career as an actor.
This successful workshop has been running for over 10 years and has been adapted for you to work with these world-renowned techniques at home while attending an online meeting for feedback, further exercises and scene-work.
During the Monday night course we will use the Uta Hagen teaching methods to tackle scenes and monologues. Together we will find what is important to make a scene believable for you and thrilling to watch by others. Subsequently, we will work to discover how to be you in the given circumstances of every scene you perform. The techniques are important for the stage, screen and in self tests.
The course will cover the five exercises in Uta Hagen’s book – A Challenge for the Actor and those principles will be applied to scene work. In the first week, you have nothing to prepare accept, however, to arrive having read the material supplied at sign-up is essential. All information about how to prepare for the exercises will be clearly explained on the first night, with video examples and written explanations provided.
