Audition and Self-Test Workshop

9:30am - 5:30pm Saturday and Sunday 13th and 14th April 2019

Learn how to create professional self-tests at home with a setup budget under $100.

We’ll also cover how to give performances that catch directors’ attention and get actors cast.

Saturday and Sunday, 13th and 14th  April 2019

9:30am to 5:30pm each day

Griffith Film School, South Bank, Brisbane

Whether you are delivering a self-test for a lead or support, auditioning for a commercial, one line in a feature, a guest in a TV show or a lead role, I will give you the techniques you need to properly showcase your abilities. Using techniques to engage your strength and vulnerability, we will aim to produce your best performances, even with the time pressure of an audition.

Using the technology to make a self-test is surprisingly easy. While a handicam works brilliantly, you can make great self-tests using your mobile phone if you do it correctly.

The course is open to actors aged 16 years and over.

I’ll give you materials on how best to prepare, using techniques from Uta Hagen, Chubbuck, Larry Moss, Eric Morris and Mark Travis. Above all, you’ll be getting the benefit of my 20 years of professional experience working in this industry.

I find great pleasure imparting the latest techniques to give you the best chance at scoring a role. As a casting director, I love nothing more than arriving at a director’s office with a swag of beautiful performances to share with them. As anyone who has auditioned for me can verify, I work hard with you to get the best performance possible.

You’ll learn how to:
· Prepare for auditions
· Create professional self-tests at home
· Deal with nerves
· How to enter and exit the room.
· Do a one-line scene (Commercials)
· Prepare short scenes
· How to do longer scenes and lead roles
· What happens after your test.

Finally, I’ll send you the video of work done!

Once you have booked, I’ll send you the material you need for the workshop and I will allocate you a scene to work on.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

I look forward to making a positive difference in your career.
