Peter Rasmussen is a casting director and acting coach.

Peter has a strong foundation in actor training with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting from QUT and 17 years in the industry.

Always hungry to embrace the best acting techniques he has studied Lee Strasburg, Eric Morris, Uta Hagan, Robert Cohen, Mark Travis, Practical Aesthetics and Howard Fine.

With an acting career spanning film and TV through to Shakespeare for schools, Peter has drawn all his influences together to form his own methodology.

Peter has taught at major schools all over Australia including the Queensland University of Technology - Fine Arts Acting Program, Griffith Film School, Tafta and the Melbourne Acting Academy.


Television projects Peter has worked on include: The Underbelly Movie Files, Crownies, Packed to the Rafters, Conspiracy 365, Sea Patrol, Heartbeat (UK), H2O – Just Add Water, Arctic Blast, City Homicide, The Great Mint Swindle, The Doctor Blake Mysteries, Australia on Trial for the ABC, Me and My Monsters, NBC Pilot Season.

He assisted Lou Mitchell to cast the prime time TV show Neighbours for 2 years and was responsible for placing a number of the regular cast.

Film projects include: Arctic Blast (directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith), Singularity (Directed by Rolland Joffe), Crawlspace, John Doe, The Cup, Kath and Kimberella.

Peter has worked as a casting director in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and Tasmania.

Peter has a great understanding of how auditions work from both sides of the camera, and the need to respect the craft of acting.

He is responsible for a number of talented actors finding their way into Australian living room and into cinemas. Above all, Peter is passionate about assisting actors to become self sufficient artists.
